PENED 2001 was a funding program for young researchers, supported by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology, Greece, under the operational program "Competitiveness". PENED 2001 focused on training young researchers through the elaboration of PhD Theses over the course of a three-year period. Within the framework of this project, our group in collaboration with LINK. S.A. (local enterprise) and the Department of Physics, designed and developed all-optical dispersion compensators based on optical phase conjugation in fibers and SOAs and dispersion management with microring resonators.
